An epiphany hit me after a recent conversation that struck me internally so that it caused a jolt in my soul.  I felt my inner self awaken to a truth like  prongs fitting a plug. Power rested on me like a glove and I realized that this shift was another layer of my identity being uncovered in the midst of strife and I needed to take heed to what God was saying. 

The bigger they are, the flyer the outfit must be! Earrings are my favorite piece of attire to wear (that’s right, I said attire)! I do not leave the house without earrings. I will wear earrings before panties or socks! HA! It’s something essential that an earring brings to a look, even if it is just a dab of sparkle or color from some little studs. At one point in my young life, real diamond stud earrings were all I wanted.

Listen girl. Stop it now! You are made in the image of GOD. Not the stars, not the sun. Why are you allowing your life and destiny to be dictated by the position of the sun when the Designer of the sun has ordered your steps, and written your story and numbered the hairs on your head? He intricately crafted the order of the world, and it is still operating according to HIS design.

I remember when me and a friend used to drive back and forth from the county of Chesterfield, VA to the county of Henrico, VA to attend church. A lot of times, we would leave the house of God and turn on Nipsey Hussle, Rocko and Future, a Tupac mix cd, or something else that takes us clean out the presence of God (don’t judge us, we were babes, unsanctified)! But that’s the music we loved at that time.
